Setup a new object type in UI

Hi, I have installed CA with the Dublin Core profile. Now I want to create an object type 'Funeral Card'. I have created this like so:

Manage ==> administration ==> metadata elements
Create new metadata element, with Type = Objects and Apply to = Objects

This seems not to be correct, I don't see my new object in the menu New ==> Object.
Sorry for the basic question, but I am new in this. Can I have some help to get into the workflow?

Hello, welcome to CA.

Metadata elements are different than object types.

To manage object types, you need to add a new entry to the object type list.
Go to Manage -> Lists & Vocabularies
Then find the list Object Types
You'd want to add the Funeral Card object type there.

Apparently I can not add a picture to this message.
But now I am in Lists & Vocabularies. Looking in the hierarchy, I do not find the list Object Types.

wannest are you an administrator? the only reason you wouldn’t see an Object Type list is because you don’t have permission to edit these.

Yes, I am admin at the highest level.

wannest Then it is definitely in there. Its code is object_types, its label is Object types. Every primary table has a list for it's type. Eg. Object lot types, Entity types, Collection types.

wannest looks like it’s labeled differently in that install profile. You want this one, with the code object_types
