New Sub-Collection from Menu

Hi, in our system we are setting up collections to work in a hierarchy with sub-collections and further. We have hit a problem where if we create a new sub-collection from the "New" drop down in the menu it creates the sub-collection but not attached to any of our collections on the system. Is there a way to guide it to the right parent collection? The Location in Hierarchy bundle doesn't seem to work when creating it this way, only saying "New sub-collection". Currently we add new sub-collections by accessing this bundle in the parent's collection page. Thanks

MattP to create a hierarchy you need to create a child off the parent instead of creating a new collection (from the menu). If you have the configuration set, there is a person icon on the record to create a child, or via the hierarchy bundle as you’ve described. If sub-collections shouldn’t be created as stand alone, remove them from the new menu to ensure mistakes aren’t made.
