internal PDF search not working Pawtucket

I am having trouble doing a key word search in a PDF in Pawtucket. I have OCRed all of my PDFs and have pdfminer installed. I can see my PDF, do a keyword search in advanced search and a PDF item will show up so it is clearly seeing the text within the item, but I cannot use the search function in the PDF item that is underneath the PDF.
Is there something that has to be changed in the pdfminer install?

Any help is appreciated.

the ca>app>conf> external_applications AND the ca>Pawtucket>app>conf> external_applications has this for the pdfminer

pdfminer_app = /home/cadbadmin/.local/bin

I am not sure I can help you. But I notice the pdfminer_app path is different for the 2 values you have pasted.

Mine works and I don't have pdfminer installed, so I don't even think this is the library that does what you want. Check you have pdftotext (xpdf package), I think this is what you need.

Coming back to this. I have installed pdftotext and it still doesn't work.

Both paths in the external_applications are the same for pdftotext

what viewer are you using for PDF's?

I've been using adobe. When I upload a pdf to Pawtucket I OCR it with adobe. When I download the PDF from Pawtucket it is still OCRed and I can search the document.

cvance I mean what viewer are you using in CA? What do you have set in your configuration? Both for providence and pawtucket. Is it universalviewer, pdfjs, mirador? Also what version of CA are you using for each?
