If the [BLANK] preferred label for the media representation caption is appearing on the frontend, is there a way to suppress it so that only records where the label has been edited are visible?

Would I edit the format of this line in detail.conf?

representationViewerCaptionTemplate = <div class='small'>^ca_object_representations.preferred_labels.name</div>,

You'd have to catch it in the theme and suppress it there. There's no magic option to do this at present.

Thanks, Seth. Do you mean suppression of all of the captions or just the [BLANK]s?

Following up to say that I resolved this by using a different free text field, since it was the title field that required text and was forcing [BLANK].

kmartine How exactly that change in the text field can be done? I will be immensely grateful if you could provide a step-by-step instruction for that.

I have been struggling to populate these representation captions through data import via excel spreadsheets. I tried using the ca_object_representations.preferred_labels in my mapping code. But my failure in that line has forced me to look for options to suppress that field.

I could resolve it in a way by suppressing it for the Pawtucket2. For that, I commented out the line representationViewerCaptionTemplate = <div class='small'>^ca_object_representations.preferred_labels.name</div>,, with a # before it, in the detail.conf file.
