ERR 310 Too many redirects

Hi Trying to install Providence 1.1. on a rented 1&1-Server (professional version) I get ERR 310 when trying to access the login screen. Installation runs well & setup.php is allright. Maybe the 1&1 uses a DNAME record. Are there any restrictions an this?

Are you sure all of the files are installed on the server? If some of the theme files are missing you can get into an infinite redirect loop. Just a guess.

checked the themes & completeness of files, I could not find anything missing. I created the error by purpose on another installation by modifying the themes section in app conf - exactly the same error, but the themes seem not to be the origin. Do you have any idea, where else to look at?

What I forgot to mention: the installation script worked perfectly

in index.php if getPathInfo() is called it does not return any value & if sendResponse() is called after that, it gets into the redirect loop. can it be a configuration issue with the Zend framework?

Is your host running PHP as an apache module (eg. mod_php5) or as CGI/FCGI? If you're not sure take a look at the phpinfo() output

Resolved this now. 1&1 use a php5 Version 5.2.17 which does not answer $_SERVER['PATH_INFO'] by default. php.ini needs to be modified by adding the cgi.fix_pathinfo=0 assignement. This is defaulted in versions before php4.3.0 or in later php5 versions. For more info see: http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=23800.

Hi there, I think I'm experiencing the very same problem (redirect loop) with a shared hosting account (Register.it Hosting Linux Professional if someone's interested). I've assured myself that no file is missing after upload (I had been working in a local virtual machine and everything was OK) Pawtucket was successfully uploaded and accesses the database without problems.

When I try to access Providence, nothing is shown (not even the login form). I've modified php.ini (just to be sure) adding cgi.fix_pathinfo=0 to no avail. What else can I try?

Well either part of the default theme in providence is missing or PHP is returning parameters to CA is a way it doesn't expect. That issue that nmooser reported above is one example of this happening, but there are others.

Can you send me the output of phpinfo()?
