Adding Metadata to Pawtucket Object Details

I'm making great progress in working with CA, but I'm afraid I need one more short tutorial/extra help concerning adding custom metadata to my Pawtucket Object Detail page.

Purely for educational purposes, I went through the following steps:

1) Under Manage -> lists/vocabularies, I created a new hierarchy name of Object Type -> "Book"

2) Under Manage -> System Configuration I added a new Metadata element called "Author" which is text and restricted to the "Book" type

3) Under Manage ->System Configuration I added "Author" to the standard object editor

So, now I can add a "Book" object and give it an Author. This is working, I think...

In Pawtucket, when I browse Object type book, and select a book, I want it to also show the author field. I think I need to do this by configuraing a facet in the browse.conf field, but I honestly have no clue how to set up this specific facet for my new field, even after reading the page at:

Could someone walk me through, for my specific example how I would set this up, so that "Author" is a separate field on the object detail page? I'm sure once I see how it applies once, I'll be able to use it again, but I'm stumbling through it my first tiem through and could use the extra guidance...

Ok, I finally figured it out, and it looks like I was way off to begin with...

I added "author" to the ca_objects_detail_display_attributes field in app/conf/app.conf and it started showing up on the detail page.

I guess you figured this out: you can add the element_code of the metadata element you want to display into the ca_objects_detail_display_attributes list in app.conf. There are also lists for the entity, place, occurrence and collection detail pages, if you end up using those in your setup.

The configuration file route is intended as a convenience if your display needs are simple. You can also just go into the view (which is just a kind of HTML template that uses PHP as it's language) itself and print out the fields directly. This approach assumes you have at least some light PHP programming experience.
