composer.json issue for Providence 2.0.11

Providence 2.0.11 fails to start; instead says:
Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version ">= 8.4.0".
I found a suggestion at https://github.com/collectiveaccess/providence/ issues/1952
to use github's current composer.json, but this did not fix the problem for me
Please advise if I should upgrade to 8.4 from php 8.2.33 or suggest how make the 8.4 dependencies go away.

If possible, you should update to PHP 8.4. PHP 8.2 will be end of life at the end of 2026.

If upgrading is really a problem we will try to package the next release with PHP 8.3 support, and 8.2 if possible. Several of the PHP packages we depend on have dropped support for older versions of PHP, thus our motivation to move to 8.4 as a baseline.
