Best way to upload large size books

We have books with multiple images(e.g. 300 pages, 500Mb). We would like to view it using Universal viewer instead of PDFJS. I have tried combined the images into a TIFF file. It works but the import speed and image processing speed are very slow (_an hour for a 500Mb tiff)

Which format should be used to upload to Providence? Or is there an alternative option?

We routinely process TIFFs > 1gb in < 20 seconds. I would suggest looking at your server set up and making sure that either the Imagick and gmagick PHP extension is installed and available. gmagick is generally the fastest, but is in a perpetual "beta" state, so many prefer imagick. FWIW we use gmagick for everything.

If neither extension is install processing will fall back to one of several much slower options.

I can't say I've ever tried uploading a multi-image TIFF with 300 separate images, but I've used them before and haven't noticed any performance issues. You might want to try converting the TIFF on the command line and seeing how slow that is. If it's slow on command-line then the problem is likely with your server and its configuration. If it's only slow in CollectiveAccess then maybe something else is going on.

I put the tiff at uploads/_{Administrator}/abc.tiff. And I import the object representations via the Import < Data

is this a correct way to import the object representations and their media files?

I'd to know if I do not use tiff (multiple pages) for an Ebook upload, can I upload individual images (e.g. 100 jpg file) but it shows only one representation in the media of an object like the tiff or PDF.
