richelc If your laptop is something you use daily, then this most likely wont work. Whatever machine you use needs to have a static IP on a stable network so others can connect to it the same way each time. A physical machine at your location (preferably one that isn't used by other users and stays and connected all the time), or a cloud based VPS is what you will want to get for this.
