Creating child objects with parent's information

Hello,
I was wondering if there was a fast way to create child objects via the Location In Hierarchy that are prepopulated with its parent's data, instead of filling them out manually. I assume importing the dataset by spreadsheet to these new records would be the next best option if not?

monica Hi, I have been using the prepopulation plugin however I am having some issues. Is there a best way to prepopulate set containers that have multiple elements? For instance I am trying to get my measurement set to transfer, each container set has a display, unit, type. and extent field. I have a rule for each in the prepopulation file (using template due to source not functioning) however it seems to only include the first measurement data, with each element field being prepopulated on a different set. So I now have 4 measurement sets each with only one field being set.
Any help would be appreciated

MattP you need to use the source method to copy multiple elements from a container.

Thanks, I have another question about the prepopulation. Is there a way so that prepopulation rules are applied to a group of objects at a time, like in batch editing?
Also I am trying to use a ca_object_representations.original_filename for a template. Is there another to use to get the file name without the extension at the end? Would I need to have a regex for it to work?
