Metadata access

There are some metadata elements (list items, tours, tour stops, etc) that I am unable to change their access (/administrate/access/Roles/Edit/role_id/1), in this case for the Administrator.

They are listed under the metadata tab
Manage Access ->Access roles. Most metadata items are changeable and save their access status (from No Access, Read only, Read edit), but a bunch of them have no default value checked and will not save any changes to them.

Any ideas where to look?

i you have LOTs of them, you might have to increase your max_input_vars in php.ini.
If you see after saving the changes, that those changes are saved up to some point in from which the radio button have no more selections (no option selected).
Change this for your version of php but would be something like:
nano /etc/php/8.3/apache2/php.ini
then find for the for the value max_input_vars in your php ini and un-comment that line or increase the value of it. Try some higher value and then start lowering it until you find your best option:
max_input_vars = 1500
Then restart your http service, in my case apache:
systemctl restart apache2

Thank you! It never would have occured to me that 1000 input variables would be too low. I set it to 1500 and it seems to be working now. I guess I should have noticed that only the end of the metadata list was not saving.
