Pawtucket install on host failed to load vendor libraries

This is the error:
Composer installation failed: ERROR: Invalid installer signature; rm: cannot remove 'composer-setup.php': No such file or directory

I had no problem installing on my personal computer. Installing Providence on my internet website host was a little tricky but it worked. But because of this error I can't get Pawtucket going

It would appear that installing Composer manually would involve using Terminal commands, but Turbify cPanel does not have a Terminal. I see that cPanel on other services does have one, but not Turbify, who hosts my website

when I was working with a host without terminal access the trick was to build the vendor directory on my local machine and then copy it to my host. In theory, it will detect the missing composer libraries and auto install them, but that had never worked for me.

Is there some way to edit the script so the libraries do install?

What triggers this error message? It sounds like it’s trying to install composer itself, not the vendor libraries. If you are installing from the release files (tar.gz or zip), then vendor libraries should already be there. It’s only if you’re installing from git you need to install vendor libraries.

monica Right after installing Pawtucket I always get this message:

An error in your system configuration has been detected

Your installation is missing required vendor libraries. This is normal if you have just installed from a Git branch. Click here to automatically load the required libraries, or see the wiki for instructions on installing the required libraries manually. NOTE: Installation may take some time.

I click on "here" and previously the libraries were automatically loaded. But when I set it up on my website host (by Turbify) I get the Composer installation failed error and I cannot get into Pawtucket at all

monica Thanks, Monica. Using the zip version did the trick.

The user guide I'm following may be out of date. It says to use git and doesn't even mention a zip version. So I will be careful to check the get started url from now on. Thanks!

To be clear, I installed using git and then used ftp to upload to the remote server.

So now you've given me an idea, which is to delete and install with zip instead...

I'll post about whether that works
