Create Fonds / Sub-Fonds etc

Hi, since I am new in CA, a basic practical question. Ik have installed CA with profile ISAD(G). I have created a Fonds and a Sub-Fonds. What are the steps to link the Sub-Fonds to the correct Fonds?
I will have the same, going deeper to Series / File / Item.
I am trying to get familiar with CA. It is installed on my website, hosted by a webhost provider. I am the owner of the installation, so I can make all the changes I want.

In the demo (https://demo.collectiveaccess.org/), I've added an artwork component, but I don't see how to add it to a existing collection, lot...

You create the Fonds first. Then from the Fonds record, you create a child record of Sub-Fonds, Series etc.
You do this from the 'child record' icon to the left in the inspector, or using the 'location in hierarchy' bundle.
You don't create them separately then 'link' them if you want them to be a hierarchy, you need to create each level as a child of the previous.

Hi Monica, the child-icon is missing when I create a new fonds. I've tested this in the demo as well in my installation.

There are only those 5 icons:

Watch/Unwatch
Change type
Duplicate
Set home location

wannest This might not be turned on by default. In app.conf there is a setting ca_objects_show_add_child_control_in_inspector set this to equal 1.

It should still allow you to add a record using the 'location in hierarchy' bundle, as you would see in an Artwork object record in the demo (at the very top of the basic info screen).

OK, I have changed the setting for ca_objects_show_add_child_control_in_inspector. Now it's working as expected for me. Thank you!
