How to Access up-to-date CA components

Hello,

I have two questions:

At https://www.collectiveaccess.org/get-started/, the latest install files for Pawtucket and Providence are version 1.7.6. The GitHub links provided give the latest as 1.7.15 and 1.7.17. Collective Access Documentation shows that there is a 1.8. What is the most current version of Pawtucket and Providence, and where can they be downloaded?

With the most recent source code being over two years old, and PHP 7.4 having reached End of Life in late 2022, I am wondering if the source code has been made compatible for newer versions of php yet?

Hi there.

the 1.7.17 is the latest 'official release', 1.8 was never released and now the release candidate is 2.0 which is php8.* compatible.

This can be found on github at: https://github.com/collectiveaccess/providence/tree/dev/php8
It doesn't have an official release yet, as there is still things going into it, so you will be wanting to do regular pulls from this branch until it is "released" to ensure you benefit from the regular fixes. That said, this version is in production for many systems, so it is stable enough.
