Relationship Types top level missing

We are running the newest version of Providence 1.7. Our installation is several years old and we've added quite a number of relationship types.
I've just noticed that it's not possible to add an entity to a collection. The reason is, I think, that there is no suitable relationship type defined for entity <-> collection (error message: "Invalid relationship type"). When I go to Administration > Relationship Types there is no top level entry "entity ⇔ collection relationships" (as in fresh system) so I can't add a relationship type for this relationship! What can I do?? How can I add the top level relationship type???

Hi Martin,

There is a caUtils command to add any missing relationship types, I can't remember the exact command off the top of my head, but if you run support/bin/caUtils help then it will give you a list of available commands and get more info of each command with support/bin/caUtils help <command> . The reason it's not there is most likely the original install profile you used didn't include it, or it's been added to core in an update.

thank you so much, that's the solution. I did look into caUtils but only tried do-configuration-check.

Two remarks:

That's not documented, is it? I should open a ticket.
caUtils added some relationship-type-roots that aren't in my fresh 1.7-install: "collection ⇔ storage location relationships", "entity ⇔ storage location relationships", "user representation annotation ⇔ entity relationships", "user representation annotation ⇔ object relationships", "user representation annotation ⇔ occurrence relationships", "user representation annotation ⇔ place relationships", "user representation annotation ⇔ vocabulary term relationships".

1.There is a stub page to document caUtils, so they know it's not documented. You can easily see which commands there are with running help to list them.

Relationship types are made with the install profile. If the profile you used for your fresh install didn't include those relationship types, then it didn't need those relationship types. If you did need them, then you need to create an install profile for your purposes that have them included.
The command is there just incase it's needed.
