deleted media download URL still live?

I recently deleted an object record and related media representation from the back end user interface, but it looks like the download link for the media is still live (and showing up in Google searches.) Do I need to hard delete the file or is there another solution? I'm on Providence version 1.5. Thanks for any advice!

Hi Liza,I don't know if this will help, but when I was looking in the command-line utilities for something else ( http://docs.collectiveaccess.org/wiki/CaUtils ), I recall seeing something for removing images that are no longer active?I'm using Red Hat Linux, so when I navigate into the "support" directory, and run the "bin/caUtils help" command, I'm getting back a list that includes: remove-deleted-representationsas an option. It's described as:"Detects and, optionally, completely removes object representations marked as deleted in the database. Files referenced by these records are also removed."Hope that helps,John

Thanks, John! I ended up manually tracking down the file and deleting it from the media directory, but I think this looks like a better solution -- I'll try it out.
