Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction [250]

Hello,We are having occasional troubles saving in CA providence. After a while we get a red error saying:"Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction [250]"It's quite hard to debug such error. I saw in mysql  with "SHOW FULL PROCESSLIST;" that there were queries long lasting, for example one was an UPDATE on ca_users, an other time it was a DELETE on ca_sql_search_word_index if I'm not wrong. Sometime our users report that happened this error but I can't check in realtime what's going on.It happens in old CA 1.4 as well as in shiny new 1.6.3 versions. We use an almost default Mysql configuration.Does anybody have this errors too?I don't know how to provide additional informations but I can try if needed.thanks a lot.

How large is this system? And what version of mysql are you running? It sounds like queries are hanging, which of course shouldn't happen.

it happens in different installations, one for example has around 30K objects, 1K entities and 50K object representations.mysql version is 5.5 (debian 7 repository)thanks.

Does this happen a lot? I know you say "occasional" but how often does that mean?

I can't say it for sure. it varies from twice a day to ones in a month.I don't know if this error could be related to having a multiuser providence. maybe one user interferes with an other one? Usually it works well..

It's possible if one user is doing something that causes a long running query, another user will get a deadlock. But there shouldn't be any queries that run that long...
