Pawtucket installation

Hey Guys,

its me again ;-) I also want to install Pawtucket, but I dont find Information how I can do that. At first of all I thought it should be the same like the installation of CA, but there are some problems. I have created a new database in phpmyadmin and a new folder in the root folder of XAMPP. Is that the right way? At the beginning I thought it should work, but the installation doesn`t start. I will add some screenshots and would be apprecriative for any help or hints! The first screenshot shows the view on the webfolder of pawtucket, the second screenshot shows the view when I click on the link "installer"

ok, the installation of pawtucket is much easier as i thought. I will write down some short instructions, which should help newbies like me ;-)

you should install CollectiveAccess (CA) with this instructions: http://wiki.collectiveaccess.org/index.php?title=Installation_(Providence)
download the packages of pawtucket via svn, you can save it in a subfolder of CA (SVN: http://collectiveaccess.svn.whirl-i-gig.com/CollectiveAccess/frontends/Pawtucket/trunk.)
Copy the setup.php-dist file (in the directory of pawtucket) to a file named setup.php
edit the setup.php in the same way like you have done it with the setup.php of CA, the only difference should be the value of "CA_URL_ROOT", here you have to fill in the direction to the subfolder of pawtucket. Note: you have to use the same php-database like in CA and also the same login etc.
open your webbrowser and go to the subdirectory of pawtucket. (If your login to CA is http://localhost/trunk/ then your access to pawtucket should be http://localhost/trunk/trunk/)
Thats it, there is no installer for pawtuckt, it should run directly

Note: There is no warranty for this instructions and Im not a native American/English speaker, but I hope this instructions can help you.

Ok, I forgot a important step. After Step 5 you should edit the global.conf in the folder of Pawtucket or Pawtucket2. You can find that file in .../Pawtucket2/trunk/app/conf. You have to edit Line 76, which should link to your media folder in CA.

here is a example for the value of the path:

ca_media_url_root = /trunk/media/<app_name>

You should not have to edit the media path except if you put your media directory in a different location than normal (it should be a directory called 'media' in the root directory in the Pawtucket2 install).

I guess we have a bug to fix?

Hey Seth, could be it is a bug or there is something wrong with my installation. The reason that I edit the ca_media_url_root was that pawtucket hadnt show any Images. The links to the Objects or Entitys have been shown, but the path to the generated Pictures in CA was wrong, or hadnt work because of my directorystructure. In my directory of Pawtucket2 I can`t find a folder which is named "media". I thought it would be the right way to reference to the "media" folder of CA. As you know, in this folder are the thumbnails and the other images.

So, I dont know if it is a bug, but with my "workaround" it works well. If you need some more information just give me a hint. Best regards Hendryk
