Getting tons of open_basedir errors that are preventing various plugins related to media processing from working…

Any ideas on where to start? Googling hasn't told me much so far…

Gotcha – thanks seth. Sorted it out, but was a bit of a nightmare due to it being a shared host.

open_basedir is a nightmare in general and usually hosts the have the on have other larger problems. So the effort was probably worth it (I hope!)

(Note, this post has been rewritten due to some errors on my part.) When we attempted an upgrade to CA to 2.x, we were getting open_basedir issues in the log. This could have been from a failed upgrade on our part but I am looking into all issues to ensure when we upgrade again that we don't have any problems.

This is the only post I could find on the topic which is from 2014 where @seth states that open_basedir is not supported. I also could not find information about open_basedir in the manual, unless I missed it.

Since the post was made over 10 years ago, and the stance on lease privilege security has become the preferred state of mind, I'm wondering if there are updated guidelines on this? Perhaps something in the middle, say adding the necessary directories into the open_basedir directive in the php.ini or user.ini?

I don't even know if open_basedir is still an issue. If there is guidance on this in the manual, or someone can provide insight, please let me know.
