Rebuilding Search indices and sort values

Hi All,

Thanks for working on the install for us.

Real quick-- I noticed that the older discussion threads are no longer showing up in the results and I'm pretty sure this question was answered there..

But what does one do in the event that the search indices and sort values get stuck while trying to rebuild? I have had this occur twice.

The web interfaces rely on your browser and network maintaining the connection while it runs. This isn't always possible. When the web interfaces work they're convenient. When they don't it's best to ssh into the server and run the command line utility. If you're in your install root directory then this should do it:

support/bin/caUtils rebuild-search-index

It has moved passed the 200th object and on its' way to indexing.

Side question:

Are the relationships listed in an object record no longer clickable? Or just certain ones?

They should all be clickable unless configured not to be.

Oh, okay. I ask because some are active and some are not. Where can I change that configuration for the inactive ones?

Sure.

Here are a couple of records that show related entities and places that are not active, but object records and collections are:

Ok you'll need to set the display template. Your system is an oldie and was started before the new templates were implemented so you probably have some old templates in there. For entities just doing something like

<l>^ca_entities.preferred_labels.displayname</l>

will work. Those <l> tags make it a link. This needs to be done in the user interface configuration screens.

If it's not clear how/where this is done let me know and we can walk you through it.
